The latest addition to some of my digital shops is a basic kit for creating junk journals with a vintage ocean travel theme. This basic kit has unique pages, envelopes, tags for you to use in your junk journal or scrapbooking projects. Junk Journaling Basics
Although I love creating digital graphics and when scrolling Pinterest (subtle reminder to follow me if you’re not already ☺️ ), it’s the vintage looking junk journal or scrapbooking graphics that always catch my eye. And since Lindsey Zenor from Nevermore Creations used some of my papers a few years ago in creating a physical junk journal kit, I love watching her videos even now. I just love the look of junk journals. They fascinate me! So, in learning how to create the digital size of these graphics, I’ve read a number of articles on junk journaling and gathered some ideas on creating physical journals. To get started with creating your own junk journal, you’ll need a few basics. First, you’ll need a journal or notebook to use as the foundation. This can be a new notebook or an old one that you’ve repurposed. Then, you’ll need some adhesive, such as glue or tape, to attach your pages and embellishments. You’ll also need some basic crafting supplies like scissors, pens, and markers.
Once you have these basics, you can start building your journal. The beauty of a junk journal is that there are no rules. You can use any kind of paper, such as scrapbook paper, vintage book pages, or even old grocery bags. You can also add in any kind of embellishments that suit your fancy, like stickers, washi tape, ribbon, and lace. Just an FYI, I have a few other digital junk journal items in my shops and many regular digital scrapbook paper can be used in junk journaling as well, be it digital or physical.
When creating your vintage ocean travel themed junk journal, you can use images and motifs like old maps, vintage postcards, and nautical symbols to give it a cohesive theme. And with the pages, envelopes, and tags that come with the kit, you can make your journal truly one-of-a-kind. These papers were created by me – nothing AI-generated! – using ocean and sea vintage graphics, florals, music sheets, etc. Anything that struck me as ocean-travel worthy and all created in the Procreate app.

In conclusion, this vintage ocean travel themed junk journal kit is perfect if you’ve taken a cruise (I love cruising!), a fishing trip, or even just a day at the ocean to either create a memory of it digitally, or print everything out for a physical journal to write your memories down. This is a basic kit that has eight landscape-size papers (11″ x 8.5″); four are unlined and four are lined to be able to write your memories or thoughts on. There are two envelopes that can be folded to insert a coin or any other little token into. There are six octagon-shaped tags and eight hang tags. All were created at 300dpi and are in .jpg and .png formats.
